Top Ways to get the most out of your Bucks-Mont NARI membership

 

You probably didn’t join NARI just to be a member.   We want to share some simple ways to help you get the most out of your membership.  Below you will find some common examples of why people join and how to make the most of your time here.

 

  1. 1.  I want education!  I am interested in making my company better and to help it grow but I need help doing that.


    1. This is often cited as the biggest reason for members of the remodeling community to join Bucks Mont NARI and for that reason we have many ways to get educated.
  1. Almost all of our dinner meetings are structured to be on an educational topic – you can check our weekly email newsletter or website to see what topics are coming up – registration is required for some and recommended for all.

  1. We offer free (to members) CEU courses almost every month.  Recent examples of some of the topics include:  How to team with an architect to do design/build effectively and profitably,  how to do a proper estimate, how to get more out of reading blue prints, etc

  1. Our Remodeling Business Conference is a full day of education Bucks Mont NARI runs every fall.  We offer a vendor showcase with all the latest and greatest product offerings as well as run education tracks for Business Owners, Supervisors and Field Staff that are meant to educate and elevate your whole company.  Many of our members bring their whole staff every year because they see the pay offs.

  1. 2.       I want to meet others involved in the remodeling industry so I can increase my networking opportunities.

  1. Our NARI Chapter is made up of Remodeling contractors, subcontractors, vendors and related professional services.  Although we don’t consider ourselves a networking group we do know that NARI members like to work with other NARI members.  The best way to get the most out of this is to attend as many monthly dinner meetings as you can typically we get anywhere from 45-70 members who attend each and every month.

Get involved in the chapter.  If you have a little extra time to do more than just attend dinner meetings we would welcome you to get involved in one of the Chapters committees.  Regardless of how little time you have we know that getting involved this way leads to more and deeper relationships.

  1. 3.       I want to keep up to date on all the latest rules, regulations and laws concerning remodeling and know how to make sure I am aware of and abide by them all.

Many of our members are very knowledgeable about the often confusing landscape of current legislation and rule changes.  Come talk to other members at meetings.  Additionally, each year we typically have a legislator and/or attorney speak to update us and take questions about how impending laws will affect your companies and work and how to best prepare for it.

  1. 4.       I want to make my potential clients aware that I take my business very seriously and want to present as professional an image as I can.

  1. The best way to present yourself as an expert in your remodeling specialty is to become Certified in one of our annual Certification courses.  These courses are offered to members each year.  Ask us for a list of the different certifications offered and when classes form.

  1. 5.       I want opportunities to do some community service work and give back to my community.

  1.       Bucks Mont NARI has won many national awards for its Community Service committees work.  Our members do about 4 local projects a year that we would welcome your help with.  Additionally, we were very involved in doing work just after Sept 11th, we took part in rebuilding over 50 homes for the underserved in Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina and have an active relationship with Habitat for Humanity.  Many members find they really have a heart for helping our neighbors in need through community service.

  1. 6.       I want to develop more or better relationships with potential suppliers.

  1. All the top local distributors and many top national suppliers are NARI members.  Many members like the opportunity and develop relationships that can lead toward future business or reinforce existing relationships.

  1. 7.       I want to learn how to help brand my company as an “Award Winning Remodeler”

  1. Many of our members have been very successful entering the annual “Contractor of the Year” awards.  Most had no idea how to do it but don’t worry we will teach you how.  Presenting one of your projects in one of the over 30 categories of competition allows your team to show off its best work on a local, regional or national level.  All of our “CotY” winners use their projects to promote their businesses throughout the year and do so very successfully.

    1. 8.   I want more opportunities to hear leading experts in the remodeling field speak about topics that can help me.
  1. Several times a year we have experts from the top trade journals and consultants in the field address our group and help them to keep up with the best ways to stay current on everything from accounting to projecting to new installation and management techniques.  Just ask us or read our Weekly Update or website for a listing of all upcoming events.
